Five days. One artist. The front of the museum.
For the first Pop-Up Museum TLV in 2019, Avi Tal / SPINE B7 took on the building’s front facade, turning it into a highlight of the event. The work covered four storeys and continued along a 23-metre fence, approximately 2–2.5 metres high.
A giant bear in glasses stretches across the facade, with turquoise, orange and pink connecting the character to the graffiti lettering along the street. Windows, shutters and balconies become part of the composition, carrying the painting across the building’s full height.
Avi painted the facade and fence solo in five days. To keep pace with the work, he stayed in one of the building’s apartments throughout the project, making the site both his workplace and temporary home.
In Avi’s recollection, no individual work in the later Pop-Up Museum editions matched this scale. The photographs follow the project from the first outlines and work on the lift to the finished facade, fence and visitors filling the courtyard.
