The work behind the record.
The exterior walls of Dimona’s football stadium carry a landscape of wildlife and colour, painted with aerosol by Avi Tal. The scale called for extensive planning, sketches and surface preparation before painting could begin.
Guinness World Records lists the achievement as the largest spray paint mural by one artist, measuring 2,038.96 m² (21,947.18 ft²), achieved in Dimona on 1 March 2016.
Working around the stadium meant handling the wall as both a long composition and a physical site. The photographs below show the painting in its surroundings, its changing colour and the relationship between the image and the desert.
